Dr. Melanie Abrams
Dr. Melanie Abrams graduated from the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry in 2006. Dr. Melanie enjoyed the field so much; she continued her studies in a residency program with focus on oral surgery, special needs patients, and treatment planning and hospital dentistry. This experience confirmed her love of working with children. She has been in private practice focusing on children’s dental health ever since! With such a focus on education, Dr. Abrams remains very active in the dental community including such groups as the American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association, Louisville Dental Society, and Kentucky Association of Women Dentists.
Dr. Melanie met her wonderful husband, Greg, in 1998 through a mutual friend, marrying in 2002. The Abrams live in Louisville with their two children, Alyssa and Derek. In her free time, you will find her playing volleyball, reading a good book or spending time with her wonderful family and friends. Dr. Abrams focuses on children because of her belief that every child deserves a beautiful smile. Dental health increases confidence and of course plays a large role in your child’s over all health with an emphasis on parent and patient education.
Dr. Melanie believes each child should be treated the way she would want her children to be treated. She shares the goal of Kid’s Dentistry to ensure the atmosphere make the child feel safe, so they will enjoy coming to the dentist and having fun while learning to take care of their teeth.
Dr. Razan Barazi
Dr. Razan Barazi received her bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and her dental degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. She practiced dentistry in Orlando, Florida, before moving to Louisville with her family in 2015. Dr. Barazi credits her decision to become a dentist to her own childhood dentist, who made dental care fun and easy. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, weekend getaways with her family, cooking and traveling. She and her husband have three children together, a daughter and two sons. We are confident you will receive the same amazing care from Dr. Barazi as you have come to expect from our entire team.
Dr. Monica Bingham
Dr. Monica Bingham is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She completed her dental training at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 2009. Subsequently, she was trained at the same university as Pediatric Dentist and graduated in 2011.
Monica was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. She is bi-lingual with Spanish being her native language. She attended and graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, School of Dentistry in Bogota. She continued her education at Saint Martin College, also in Bogota, where she specialized in Orthodontics and earned an MS degree. In 2003 Monica relocated to the U.S. and earned her second dental degree in the US. In 2007, Dr. Bingham became an American Citizen, something she is very proud of.
Monica loves to work with children and has devoted her professional career to their dental health and well-being. In her spare time, Dr. Bingham loves spending time outdoors, hiking, doing yoga, and riding horses. She loves taking vacations to the beach where it’s warm.
Dr. Jennifer Board
Dr. Board grew up in a family dedicated to dental health — her father is a dentist and her grandfather owned a dental laboratory. After graduation, she joined a private practice where she developed a love of children’s dentistry. From there, she has focused on providing comprehensive care to children in a friendly, nurturing environment. Dr. Board believes in educating patients and their families about dental health for dazzling smiles for life. She lives in Louisville with her two daughters, Kerolyn and Maggie, and their cat, Callie. They love skiing, boating, cooking, gardening, traveling, running, and bicycling and many other outdoor activities.
Dr. Blair Bumgardner
Dr. Blair was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She attended Bishop Dwenger High School, where she participated in soccer, track, and basketball. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Medical Ethics from Indiana University Bloomington.
Dr. Blair graduated with a DMD degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2013. During her time in dental school, she was honored with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) Outstanding Senior Award for her interest in Pediatric Dentistry. This inspired her to pursue a life-long career in Pediatric Dentistry. She received her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and her Master of Science in Dentistry from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2015. In addition to working with our practice, Dr. Blair will spend one day per week teaching as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatric Dentistry in the graduate pediatric dentistry residency program at Riley Hospital for Children and Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Blair currently lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, and enjoys staying active, running, playing soccer, and spending time with her friends and family, including her dog, Daisy.
Dr. Sanghee Chon
Dr. Sanghee Chon received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville and her dental degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. With roughly 10 years of experience in dentistry, Dr. Chon has a long-standing passion for providing exceptional treatment and building relationships with her patients to cultivate a lifetime of good oral health. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Chon was raised in Louisville, Kentucky, where she resides with her husband and two boys. In her free time, Dr. Chon enjoys discovering new restaurants, being outdoors and traveling with family (especially to Disney World).
Dr. Jatinder Dhillon
Dr. Jatinder Dhillon is originally from New Jersey. She received her undergraduate and Master of Dental Surgery in Pediatric Dentistry degrees from the Govt Dental College & Hospital in India. She went on to receive her Postdoctoral certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Dhillon is a member of the American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She was influenced to become a dentist at 6 years old when her baby tooth was loose and needed to be removed. Her dentist took less than a minute to remove it and prescribed ice cream! After that moment, she decided that’s what she was going to do: Take care of kids and prescribe ice cream! In her free time, she enjoys traveling and reading. She is married with a daughter and a son.
Dr. Julia B. Dobson
Dr. Julia B. Dobson was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Bellarmine University. She completed her Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Louisville. Finally, Dr. Dobson attended dental school at the University of Louisville. After she completed dental school in 2016, she finished her residency in pediatric dentistry 2018. Her specialties include: pediatric dentistry, nitrous gas sedation, and general anesthesia at a surgery center.
Dr. Dobson lives in Middletown and loves taking care of the patients in her community. Her favorite part of living in Middletown is the charm of the town. Some of her favorite hobbies are cooking, running, hot yoga and listening to podcasts. She has been married to her husband Nick for over ten years. Dr. Dobson and Nick have three children and two dogs together.
As a child, Dr. Dobson loved going to the dentist. She remembers vividly how her former dentist treated the entire family with love and respect. The same dentist actually wrote her a letter or recommendation, which helped her get into dental school at the University of Louisville. One of her favorite parts of dentistry is being able to establish new relationships with the families she serves. Dr. Dobson also enjoys sharing her oral health best practices with her patients. Dr. Roger Dotsey
Dr. Roger Dotsey grew up in Owensboro, KY. He moved to Louisville, KY to pursue his undergraduate degree as well as his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of Louisville. Dr. Dotsey completed his pediatric dental residency at Indiana University at the James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children. He and his wife Sarah have two young boys and one puppy! Dr. Dotsey is a BIG University of Louisville fan and enjoys watching the Cardinal athletics teams. He also enjoys spending time with his family and reading!
Dr. Michael Fiala
Dr. Michael Fiala is originally from Fort Collins, Colorado. He completed his undergraduate studies at Colorado State University and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. He joins Kid’s Dentistree with over five years of experience working with kids. What he enjoys most about dentistry is when he can help people (especially kids) be more comfortable at the dentist, which includes changing how they perceive their dental visits and making the dental office an inviting place. In his free time, Dr. Fiala enjoys hiking, skydiving, bowling, skiing, swimming, ATVing, and attending sports events or concerts. He is married with one child and twins on the way.
Dr. Erika Finch
Dr. Erika Finch received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, her Masters degree in Biotechnology from Rush University, obtained her doctorate degree at Indiana University School of Dentistry and completed her Pediatric Residency at the University of Louisville. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Association for Women Dentists. Dr. Erika knew pediatric dentistry was the right choice for her after interning at a dental office while living abroad in Italy. Pediatric dentistry allows her to combine her love for science and art and express her compassionate personality to create a fun, safe, comfortable environment at Kid’s Dentistree.
Outside of the office, Dr. Erika enjoys going to the beach, volunteering, and is on the Board of Directors for the Humane Society for Greater Savannah. She also loves to explore and travel with her husband, daughter and rescue puppy named Belle – they are always on the hunt for the best pizza place in town! Come say hi to Dr. Erika!
Dr. Heather Hammond
Dr. Heather Hammond is a native of Greenwood, Indiana, and completed her undergraduate degree in Spanish from Hanover College in 2012. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2016, and her General Practice Residency (GPR) at University of Louisville Hospital in 2017. She practiced public health dentistry for two years in Indianapolis before returning for two years of advanced training at the University of Kentucky Pediatric Dentistry Residency program. Dr. Washburn is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Kentucky Association of Pediatric Dentistry, Kentucky Dental Association, and Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry.
She is so grateful to have the opportunity at Kid’s Dentistree, where she is able to work with a dedicated team and can utilize both Spanish and dentistry to provide the best care possible to her pediatric patients and their families. When Dr. Washburn is not at the office, you might catch her around Louisville with her family, friends, and her sweet goldendoodle, Penny! Dr. Brent Hurst
Dr. Hurst wants your child to enjoy coming to the dentist as much as possible. He prides himself on giving your child every bit of attention and care they need. Dr. Hurst expects a laugh, smile or giggle each time he sees you! If not, he may have to bust out some of his crazy dance moves! That will surely make you laugh!
Education & Training Background:
Dr. Brent Hurst was born in Louisville, KY and attended duPont Manual High School. He earned his undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, BS), his graduate degrees (Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Master’s degree in Business Administration, Master’s degree in Oral Biology, MS, MBA and MS, resp.), as well as his Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from the University of Louisville. It is quite obvious that Dr. Hurst loves school!
Dr. Hurst worked for five years in general practice before returning to school to complete a two-year Post-Doctoral Pediatric Dental Residency at the University of Louisville. Since 2012, Dr. Hurst worked as a dentist at the Home of the Innocents in Louisville, KY. It is non-profit organization that assists children that have been abused, neglected, or abandoned, as well as serves as a pediatric convalescent center for children with birth defects and other medical problems.
Dr. Hurst is active in the pediatric dental community with such groups as the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), and the Louisville Society of Pediatric Dentistry (LSPD).
Dr. Hurst has an amazing wife, Ashley, who is a nurse for Norton Healthcare and has three beautiful children: Anistyn, Easton and Hudson. He lives in Fern Creek and as long as he is with the ones he loves, he is a happy man!
Some interesting facts about Dr. Hurst: He has a twin brother, he loves to run, he wears light-up shoes to work, and he can juggle up to four items at a time!
Dr. Michael Kornblatt
Dr. Mike has always loved working with children. As an undergraduate at the University of Virginia, Dr. Mike worked as a Spanish-English Interpreter at the Pediatric Department of UVa Hospital. He then decided to focus on Oral Health, and was accepted to the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry. Nurturing his love of learning, Dr. Mike decided to continue his education with a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry with Lutheran Medical in Hawaii. Dr. Mike was then accepted to Jacobi Medical Center for a second residency program, specializing in caring for pediatric patients with a focus on hospital dentistry. Following his residency program, Dr. Mike successfully completed his qualifying exams for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and is now Board Certified. Dr. Mike remains very active in the dental community and is an active member of the American Dental Association, and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Mike is amateur musician, and can often be found playing the Ukulele and singing for his patients! He also attended clown school as a child, and if music fails to coax a smile, you just might catch him juggling toothbrushes.
Dr. Mike has lived in Spain, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, is certified fluent in Spanish with The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, and is passionate about providing access to care for Spanish-speaking children.

Dr. Shalesh Kumar
Dr. Shalesh Kumar was born and raised in India. He received a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree (BDS) in 1999 from M.D. University in Northern India. He practiced dentistry for four years in India before coming to United States in 2003. After finishing his Masters in Microbiology and Immunology from University of Louisville, Dr. Kumar earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from University of California, San Francisco in 2007. In dental school, he was awarded a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his outstanding work for the Community Dental Clinic for the homeless. He has been actively engaged in general dentistry since then.
Dr. Kumar emphasizes preventive and regular dental care for children. His philosophy is “prevention is better than cure,” which is particularly appropriate in regard to dental diseases. He firmly believes that dedicating a few minutes every day to dental hygiene and a proper diet can provide a healthy and lasting smile.
Dr. Kumar is married and has two children. He loves spending time with his family and friends, and also enjoys researching dentistry topics on Google.
Dr. Meg Livesay
Dr. Meg Livesay was born and raised in Louisville, Ky. She graduated from Male High School in 1990 and University of Louisville Dental School in 1998. She has dedicated the past 20 years to treating her patients with compassion and patience. Dr. Livesay loves working with children and parents to create a fun and trusting relationship. In her spare time, Dr. Livesay spends time with her husband Kenny and three children Daniel, Sean, and Paisley. She loves to run, travel, practice yoga, and watch her kids grow.
Dr. Tim McClain
Originally from Altus, Oklahoma, Dr. Tim McClain attended Brigham Young University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in physiology and developmental biology before completing his dental degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry and pediatric residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Growing up with a caring dentist, Dr. McClain believes that the relationship of trust with a patient is paramount to successful dental outcomes and experiences. He loves getting to know his patients and their families.
Dr. McClain currently lives in Frankfort, Kentucky and has four children. A few fun facts about Dr. McClain is that he loves Crocs and owns more jibbitz than he can count, and he loves to write children’s stories (although none are published). In his spare time, he enjoys outings with his kids, bike rides, ultimate frisbee, woodworking, home improvement projects and exploring Kentucky.
Dr. Lindsay Moore
Dr. Lindsay Moore is a native of New Haven, KY, and is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a BA in both Biology and Psychology, as well as a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry. Since graduating from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, Dr. Moore has worked with pediatric patients, and enjoys providing a positive dental experience and educating her young patients so they can maintain a healthy smile for a lifetime. In her spare time, Dr. Moore enjoys running, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband and two sons. Dr. Moore is excited to join the Kid’s Dentistree Dixie Highway practice, and serve the Louisville community.
Dr. Daren Peace
A Kentucky native, Dr. Daren Peace earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry.
Dr. Peace went on to receive advanced specialty training through a General Practice residency and a Pediatric dental residency. While he was a resident, Dr. Peace also received extensive training in hospital-based dentistry, treatment of children with special needs/disabilities and treatment of medically complex patients. In addition, Dr. Peace is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and holds a certification in Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
With two young children of his own, Dr. Peace understands the challenges that parents face and how hard it can be to provide preventive dental care. He looks forward to helping parents with their concerns by delivering the best care available and giving their children a comfortable, positive dental experience.
Dr. Pooja Reddy
Dr. Reddy was born in India and is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from undergrad with double degree majors in Biology and Arts from the University of Louisville in 2009 and went on to complete her Doctor in Dental Medicine from the same University in 2013. A member of the American Dental Association and the Kentucky Dental Association, she has extensive experience in pediatric dentistry that ranges from general care to oral surgery.
After working for 6 years in private practice, she joined Kid’s Dentistree in 2019. Dr. Reddy loves working with her pediatric patients and believes that every child deserves a beautiful smile! She wants her patients to have a fun, safe and positive experience at the dental office while building long-lasting relationships with patients and their families. Dr. Reddy encourages preventative Dentistry and parent involvement in treatment options and builds a relationship of trust based on transparency.
She lives in Louisville with her husband and kids. She is actively involved in her community and enjoys traveling, reading, trying new and different cuisines, listening to podcasts, and volunteering at her children’s school. Her favorite vacation is anything and everything Disney!
Dr. Vineela Redla
Dr. Redla is a board-eligible pediatric dentist and is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, American Academy of Developmental Medicine & Dentistry and Special Care Dentistry Association. After practicing for a few years in upstate New York, Dr. Redla, along with her husband and two daughters, moved to Ohio to be closer to family.
Following her passion for giving back to the community, Dr. Redla served as Clinical Director for Special Smiles between 2014 and 2019 in New York before joining Special Olympics Ohio in 2019. Special Smiles is one of eight disciplines offered by Special Olympics Healthy Athletes. It provides free dental screenings and comprehensive oral health care information — including and instructions on correct brushing and flossing techniques — to participating Special Olympics athletes. In addition to her work with Special Smiles, Dr. Redla also volunteers with organizations like Days for Girls, Soles4Souls, Tarangini and Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.
In addition to spending time with family, Dr. Redla finds joy in a wide variety of hobbies, including gardening, furniture upcycling and painting.
Dr. Jada Roberts
Dr. Jada is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, and completed her undergraduate degree at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry and her masters in Dental Science from Lutheran Medical Center – Dental Center of Northwest Ohio. Dr. Jada is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Indiana Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Indiana Dental Association and American Dental Association. She previously worked at Mortenson Family Dental and Kid’s Dentistree as a general dentist, and is excited to be returning to the company!
She has a passion for building positive relationships between patients and their dentist to make dental care fun and easy, instilling a lifetime of healthy oral care. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, hiking and spending time with family and friends. Jada and her husband are the proud parents to their rescue dog. Dr. A. Joseph Shahla
Dr. Joseph Shahla is from Nashville, Tennessee. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Lipscomb University. Dr. Shahla attended dental school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center: College of Dentistry. After he completed dental school, he worked as a general dentist where he treated children for two years. Dr. Shahla decided to go back to school to do his residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His specialties include pediatric dentistry, special needs patients, nitrous gas sedation, conscious sedation, and much more. He recently passed his oral boards to become Board certified and he won the 2018 Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award (top 3% of scores of the 2018 written board exam).
Dr. Shahla decided to pursue dentistry after he went on a mission trip in college to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. One of his favorite parts of dentistry is being able to establish new relationships with the families he serves. There is nothing more rewarding to Dr. Shahla than helping a child in need. Dr. Shahla is very personable, and he loves to use his humor to help ease the anxiety of his patients. Dr. Shahla lives in Southern Indiana and loves taking care of the patients in his community. Some of his favorite hobbies are being outdoors, spending time with his family, and trying new kinds of food and restaurants. He has been married to his wife Haley for 4 years. Dr. Shahla and his wife have a dog, Marko, together. Come meet Dr. Shahla!
Dr. Lizzy Standish
Dr. Lizzy Standish grew up near Galveston, Texas. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Following graduation, she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. She then worked as a general dentist in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, but quickly realized her passion lies in working with children and individuals with special needs. In 2018, she went back to school to complete a two-year pediatric dentistry residency and obtained her Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) at Indiana University School of Dentistry and Riley Hospital for Children.
Dr. Lizzy states, “I love so many things about being a pediatric dentist. I love that I have the opportunity to build relationships with families and see my patients grow into wonderful adults. Some of my most rewarding moments are watching the anxious and wiggly child transform into a happy and smiling kiddo with just a little bit of TLC. It is such a rewarding experience to help children become empowered in the healthcare setting.”
Dr. Lizzy is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, and the Indiana Society of Pediatric Dentistry. In her free time, Dr. Lizzy enjoys spending time with her growing family, hiking, and playing with her dog, Iroh.
Dr. Kelly Underwood
Dr. Kelly Underwood graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and then received her doctorate of dental medicine at the University Of Louisville School Of Dentistry. She completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University Hospital and the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. She focused on medically complex and special needs patients, along with children in a conventional office and hospital setting. After residency Dr. Kelly worked with children in a private practice. Dr. Kelly is an active member of the Louisville Dental Society Kentucky Dental Association, American Dental Association and the Kentucky Association of Women’s Dentists. She is licensed in Kentucky and Indiana.
Dr. Kelly lives in Louisville with her husband Jason and two dogs. She enjoys playing tennis and spending time with family and friends. Her family centric approach to dental care involves the child, parents, and siblings. She believes that diet, hygiene, and dental treatment must all be addressed to provide truly comprehensive care. Dr. Kelly’s calm and friendly demeanor will help place your child at ease to comfortably reach all your oral health goals.
Dr. Sharlette Victorino
Dr. Victorino earned both her undergraduate and dental degrees from the University of Kentucky. She has traveled to offices throughout Indiana and Kentucky sharing her knowledge about patient care and efficiency, as well as offering additional training to new dentists. She is a member of the Indiana Dental Association, American Academy of General Dentistry and the American Association of Women Dentists.
As a mother of three children, she understands the anxiety associated with going to the dentist, and looks forward to giving her patients a fun, relaxing experience that sets them up for a lifetime of oral health. She and her family are avid sports fans and enjoy movie nights, beach vacations and spending time by the pool.
Dr. John Wilson
Dr. John Wilson was born in Madisonville, KY and earned his bachelors degree from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. He received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in Lexington. He then decided to further his education by completing a two-year residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he earned his certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. During his training in dental school and residency, he has been able to work with children of all ages in both rural and urban areas. This has allowed him to gain a wide array of valuable clinical skills which includes sedation and hospital dentistry as well as treating patients with special needs. Dr. Wilson strives to educate his patients on prevention and also ensure that both the patient and parent have a great overall dental experience.
Dr. Wilson lives with his wife, Anna Kristin, and their two dogs, Max and Angel. They enjoy traveling to new places and spending time with family and friends. In his free time, Dr. Wilson loves being in the outdoors hunting and fishing.
