Dr. Melanie Abrams graduated from the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry in 2006. Dr. Melanie enjoyed the field so much; she continued her studies in a residency program with focus on oral surgery, special needs patients, and treatment planning and hospital dentistry. This experience confirmed her love of working with children. She has been in private practice focusing on children’s dental health ever since! With such a focus on education, Dr. Abrams remains very active in the dental community including such groups as the American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association, Louisville Dental Society, and Kentucky Association of Women Dentists.
Dr. Melanie met her wonderful husband, Greg, in 1998 through a mutual friend, marrying in 2002. The Abrams live in Louisville with their two children, Alyssa and Derek. In her free time, you will find her playing volleyball, reading a good book or spending time with her wonderful family and friends. Dr. Abrams focuses on children because of her belief that every child deserves a beautiful smile. Dental health increases confidence and of course plays a large role in your child’s over all health with an emphasis on parent and patient education.
Dr. Melanie believes each child should be treated the way she would want her children to be treated. She shares the goal of Kid’s Dentistree to ensure the atmosphere make the child feel safe, so they will enjoy coming to the dentist and having fun while learning to take care of their teeth.

She practiced dentistry in Orlando, Florida, before moving to Louisville with her family in 2015. Dr. Barazi credits her decision to become a dentist to her own childhood dentist, who made dental care fun and easy. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, weekend getaways with her family, cooking and traveling. She and her husband have three children together, a daughter and two sons. Dr. Monica Bingham is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She completed her dental training at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 2009. Subsequently, she was trained at the same university as Pediatric Dentist and graduated in 2011.
Monica was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. She is bi-lingual with Spanish being her native language. She attended and graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, School of Dentistry in Bogota. She continued her education at Saint Martin College, also in Bogota, where she specialized in Orthodontics and earned an MS degree. In 2003 Monica relocated to the U.S. and earned her second dental degree in the US. In 2007, Dr. Bingham became an American Citizen, something she is very proud of.
Monica loves to work with children and has devoted her professional career to their dental health and well-being. In her spare time, Dr. Bingham loves spending time outdoors, hiking, doing yoga, and riding horses. She loves taking vacations to the beach where it’s warm.

Dr. Blair was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She attended Bishop Dwenger High School, where she participated in soccer, track, and basketball. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Medical Ethics from Indiana University Bloomington.
Dr. Blair graduated with a DMD degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2013. During her time in dental school, she was honored with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) Outstanding Senior Award for her interest in Pediatric Dentistry. This inspired her to pursue a life-long career in Pediatric Dentistry. She received her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and her Master of Science in Dentistry from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2015. In addition to working with our practice, Dr. Blair will spend one day per week teaching as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatric Dentistry in the graduate pediatric dentistry residency program at Riley Hospital for Children and Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Blair currently lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, and enjoys staying active, running, playing soccer, and spending time with her friends and family, including her dog, Daisy.

After she completed dental school in 2016, she finished her residency in pediatric dentistry 2018. Her specialties include: pediatric dentistry, nitrous gas sedation, and general anesthesia at a surgery center.
Dr. Dobson lives in Middletown and loves taking care of the patients in her community. Her favorite part of living in Middletown is the charm of the town. Some of her favorite hobbies are cooking, running, hot yoga and listening to podcasts. She has been married to her husband Nick for over ten years. Dr. Dobson and Nick have three children and two dogs together.
As a child, Dr. Dobson loved going to the dentist. She remembers vividly how her former dentist treated the entire family with love and respect. The same dentist actually wrote her a letter or recommendation, which helped her get into dental school at the University of Louisville. One of her favorite parts of dentistry is being able to establish new relationships with the families she serves. Dr. Dobson also enjoys sharing her oral health best practices with her patients. Dr. Erika knew pediatric dentistry was the right choice for her after interning at a dental office while living abroad in Italy. Pediatric dentistry allows her to combine her love for science and art and express her compassionate personality to create a fun, safe, comfortable environment at Kid’s Dentistree.
Outside of the office, Dr. Erika enjoys going to the beach, volunteering, and is on the Board of Directors for the Humane Society for Greater Savannah. He earned his undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, BS), his graduate degrees (Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Master’s degree in Business Administration, Master’s degree in Oral Biology, MS, MBA and MS, resp.), as well as his Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from the University of Louisville. Dr. Hurst worked for five years in general practice before returning to school to complete a two-year postdoctoral Pediatric Dental Residency at the University of Louisville. It is quite obvious that Dr. Hurst loves school!
Dr. Hurst is active in the pediatric dental community and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and a member of the Kentucky Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Hurst is also a part-time faculty member at the University of Louisville’s Pediatric Dental Residency Program. Since 2012, Dr. Hurst has worked as a dentist at the Home of the Innocents in Louisville, KY. It is a non-profit organization that assists children that have been abused, neglected, or abandoned, as well as serves as a pediatric convalescent center for children with birth defects and other medical problems.
Dr. Hurst wants your child to enjoy coming to the dentist as much as possible. He prides himself on giving your child every bit of attention and care they need. Dr. Hurst expects a laugh, smile or giggle each time he sees you! If not, he may have to bust out some of his crazy dance moves! That will surely make you laugh!
Dr. Hurst lives in Bullitt County with his wife, Ashley and has three children: Anistyn, Easton and Hudson. Some interesting facts about Dr. Hurst: He has a twin brother, he loves to run, he wears light-up shoes to work everyday as well as silly animal ears, and he can juggle up to four items at a time!

Dr. Mike has always loved working with children. As an undergraduate at the University of Virginia, Dr. Mike worked as a Spanish-English Interpreter at the Pediatric Department of UVa Hospital. He then decided to focus on Oral Health, and was accepted to the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry. Nurturing his love of learning, Dr. Mike decided to continue his education with a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry with Lutheran Medical in Hawaii. Dr. Mike was then accepted to Jacobi Medical Center for a second residency program, specializing in caring for pediatric patients with a focus on hospital dentistry. Following his residency program, Dr. Mike successfully completed his qualifying exams for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and is now Board Certified. Dr. Mike remains very active in the dental community and is an active member of the American Dental Association, and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Mike is amateur musician, and can often be found playing the Ukulele and singing for his patients! He also attended clown school as a child, and if music fails to coax a smile, you just might catch him juggling toothbrushes.
Dr. Mike has lived in Spain, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, is certified fluent in Spanish with The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, and is passionate about providing access to care for Spanish-speaking children.

He practiced dentistry for four years in India before coming to United States in 2003. After finishing his Masters in Microbiology and Immunology from University of Louisville, Dr. Kumar earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from University of California, San Francisco in 2007. In dental school, he was awarded a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his outstanding work for the Community Dental Clinic for the homeless. He has been actively engaged in general dentistry since then.
Dr. Kumar emphasizes preventive and regular dental care for children. His philosophy is “prevention is better than cure,” which is particularly appropriate in regard to dental diseases. He firmly believes that dedicating a few minutes every day to dental hygiene and a proper diet can provide a healthy and lasting smile.
Dr. Kumar is married and has two children. He loves spending time with his family and friends, and also enjoys researching dentistry topics on Google.

Her biggest influence to become a dentist is her mother, who practiced general dentistry for 29 years in Southeastern Kentucky. Dr. Little’s greatest joy in dentistry is creating a positive first dental visit for children and their families. Her goal is for patients to look forward to their next dental visit, just as she looks forward to seeing them!
When Dr. Little is not at the practice, she enjoys anything active – running, lifting weights, hiking and taking her Goldendoodle, Jet, on walks. She is also an avid UK Wildcat fan.

Growing up with a caring dentist, Dr. McClain believes that the relationship of trust with a patient is paramount to successful dental outcomes and experiences. He loves getting to know his patients and their families.
Dr. McClain currently lives in Frankfort, Kentucky and has four children. A few fun facts about Dr. McClain is that he loves Crocs and owns more jibbitz than he can count, and he loves to write children’s stories (although none are published). She wants her patients to have a fun, safe and positive experience at the dental office while building long-lasting relationships with patients and their families. Dr. Reddy encourages preventative Dentistry and parent involvement in treatment options and builds a relationship of trust based on transparency.

Dr. Redla is a board-eligible pediatric dentist and is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, American Academy of Developmental Medicine & Dentistry and Special Care Dentistry Association. After practicing for a few years in upstate New York, Dr. Redla, along with her husband and two daughters, moved to Ohio to be closer to family.
Following her passion for giving back to the community, Dr. Redla served as Clinical Director for Special Smiles between 2014 and 2019 in New York before joining Special Olympics Ohio in 2019. Special Smiles is one of eight disciplines offered by Special Olympics Healthy Athletes. It provides free dental screenings and comprehensive oral health care information — including and instructions on correct brushing and flossing techniques — to participating Special Olympics athletes. In addition to her work with Special Smiles, Dr. Redla also volunteers with organizations like Days for Girls, Soles4Souls, Tarangini and Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.
In addition to spending time with family, Dr. Redla finds joy in a wide variety of hobbies, including gardening, furniture upcycling and painting.

Dr. Joseph Shahla is from Nashville, Tennessee. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Lipscomb University. Dr. Shahla attended dental school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center: College of Dentistry. After he completed dental school, he worked as a general dentist where he treated children for two years. Dr. Shahla decided to go back to school to do his residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His specialties include pediatric dentistry, special needs patients, nitrous gas sedation, conscious sedation, and much more. He recently passed his oral boards to become Board certified and he won the 2018 Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award (top 3% of scores of the 2018 written board exam).
Dr. Shahla decided to pursue dentistry after he went on a mission trip in college to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. One of his favorite parts of dentistry is being able to establish new relationships with the families he serves. There is nothing more rewarding to Dr. Shahla than helping a child in need. Dr. Shahla is very personable, and he loves to use his humor to help ease the anxiety of his patients. Dr. Shahla lives in Southern Indiana and loves taking care of the patients in his community. Some of his favorite hobbies are being outdoors, spending time with his family, and trying new kinds of food and restaurants. He has been married to his wife Haley for 4 years. Dr. Elizabeth Standish grew up near Galveston, Texas. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Following graduation, she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Texas A&M College of Dentistry. She then worked as a general dentist in the Dallas/Fort Worth area but quickly realized her passion lies in working with children and individuals with special needs. In 2018, she went back to school to complete a two-year pediatric dentistry residency and obtained her Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) at Indiana University School of Dentistry and Riley Hospital for Children.
Dr. Elizabeth states, “I love so many things about being a pediatric dentist. I love that I have the opportunity to build relationships with families and see my patients grow into wonderful adults. Some of my most rewarding moments are watching the anxious and wiggly child transform into a happy and smiling kiddo with just a little bit of TLC. It is such a rewarding experience to help children become empowered in the healthcare setting.”
