When should I start fluoride toothpaste?

Unless otherwise directed by your pediatric dentist, fluoride toothpaste should be introduced when a child is 2-3 years of age. Prior to that, parents may clean the child’s teeth with water and/or non-fluoridated toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush.
