Find the tooth. Handle the tooth carefully by the crown, not the root portion. You may rinse the tooth to remove debris, and if the tooth is intact, attempt to re-insert the tooth into the socket. Have your child bite on a cloth to hold the tooth in place. If you cannot re-insert the tooth, place immediately into cold milk, distilled water or your child’s saliva. Keep the tooth moist and contact your child’s dentist IMMEDIATELY! Time is a critical factor in saving the tooth.
